Help me sort a timeline thing?

Okay, so. Series 0 and Duel Monsters do not timeline together neatly. At All. But I'm trying to rely on both canons for this here ginormous fanfic. So:

Clearly Seto is in control of Kaiba Corp before Duel Monsters opens. I doubt this is true when he is introduced in Series 0. Thus: at what point did that change? Or is he already running the show at his first appearance? (I mean, we don't see Gozaburo in that episode...)

It's been ages since I've seen Series 0 (used to have a copy but I lost it in the fire), but the stuff that happens in the first seven volumes of the manga roughly corresponds to Series 0, if I remember correctly, and in the manga, Kaiba is already president of Kaiba Corp at the beginning. Gozaburo never appears except in flashback when Mokuba is telling Yugi the story of how Seto got to be the way he is. According to Mokuba, Seto engineered a hostile takeover of Kaiba Corp six years after they were adopted, at which point Gozaburo jumped out the window of the board room and killed himself. Mokuba says they were adopted at the ages of 10 and 5, so Seto would have been 16 when he took over Kaiba Corp -- which is the age the guys are in the manga, so it must have happened shortly before the start of the series.

Oh, I just found another bit from the manga, Vol 4, at the beginning of Death-T. Kaiba is pretending to be friends with Yugi and Jounouchi, taking them to the opening of Kaiba Land, and he tells them "As you know, I own Kaiba Corporation... I had to take over when my father, the founder, passed away six months ago."

Yay! Heh, and now this has got me reading the Death-T arc again -- after I just finished rereading the whole manga series for the third time a few days ago... I might just end up re-reading it again!
